SSE Airtricity First Division leaders Shelbourne are ten points clear at the top of the table following a 2-0 win away at Cork City on Friday evening.
Goals in each from Ryan Brennan was enough for Shels as they close in on a return to the top flight.
UCD remain in second on goal difference from Galway United. The Students thumped Cabinteely 5-2, with Liam Kerrigan grabbing a hat-trick. Mitchel Byrne had given Cabo the lead on four minutes at the Bowl, but the hosts responded with a Colm Whelan leveller ron 26 minutes. Kerrigan then fired UCD in front a minute later. Jack Keaney was also among the goals either side of goals two and three for Kerrigan. Ben Feeney neeted a consolation for the visitors.
At Eamonn Deacy Park, Galway and Treaty United had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The latter had Marc Ludden dismissed on 72 minutes but hung on for a point.
Elsewhere, Scott Delaney got the only goal as Athlone Town defeated Bray Wanderers 1-0 at the Carlisle Grounds.
Wexford FC had a 3-1 home win against Cobh Ramblers. The sides were level at ther break with Lee Devitt cancelling out Jack Moylan's opener for the hosts. Goals on 58 and 60 minutes respectively from Kevin McEvoy and Thomas Considine secured the points for Wexford.
