Treaty United 2-2 Athlone Town

This was a heated affair this afternoon at Jackman Park, so much so that a water break was required to help the players get through it. But neither side was willing to let up so a point apiece felt like a fair outcome.

Aoife Cronin netted twice - bringing her level with Rebecca Horgan as the team's joint top scorer on four goals - with her first goal getting the game going.

Athlone responded just before the interval when Katelyn Keogh fired in and they then took the lead on 66 minutes through midfielder Melissa O'Kane. However, Cronin wasn't done and she completed her brace on 82 minutes to earn a point for Niall Connolly's side.

Bohemians 1-1 Galway WFC

Resilience is a characteristic that a team must earn by repeating the same level of commitment and that is exactly what Bohemians are doing this season.

With time running out and the home side - playing at Dalymount Park on Saturday for just a second ever League game - trailing to an excellent Sinead Donovan goal, they needed to dig in and fight back.

A free-kick from midfielder Chloe Darby gave them that opportunity and they took it by scoring in the 86th minute to secure a point that could prove crucial at the season's end.

For Galway, this was a performance with plenty of positive notes - Ruth Fahy at right-back looked assured, Aoife Thompson was a threat up front - but they will go again under new boss Stephen Lally.

Jessie Stapleton of Shelbourne wins a header under Cork pressure on Saturday

Shelbourne 1-0 Cork City

Sometimes all it takes is one moment of magic to settle a contest and that is what gave Shelbourne the three points at Tolka Park yesterday.

With supporters back in the stadium for the first time this season, Noelle Murray does what she does best by entertaining the crowd with a superb long-range finish.

The Reds moved level on points with leaders Peamount United as a result of this victory, while Cork will be heartened by their own performance.

Still bottom of the table, The Leesiders saw Becky Cassin and Éabha O'Mahony set the tone with their work-rate in midfield and more of the same will be required in upcoming games to turn their fortunes around.

Wexford Youths 3-1 DLR Waves

It was pretty much one-way traffic for the bulk of this game as Wexford began life without former manager Tom Elmes on Saturday evening with a home win that they thoroughly deserved.

A well-worked set-piece saw Lynn Marie Grant open the scoring and the hosts should have added to that but for missed opportunities from Ellen Molloy and Ciara Rossiter.

In the second half, Orlaith Conlon did bundle the ball over the line after DLR failed to clear a corner kick before Molloy forced an own goal from Niamh Barnes following a mazy run into the penalty area.

DLR had pulled one back, through a Carla McManus penalty, before that own goal went in but this was a game where they were second best throughout.
