Peterborough United's attacking midfielder Sam Szmodics has been drafted into the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendlies against Andorra and Hungary after Stephen Kenny's plans were further disrupted by injuries.
Goalkeeper Darren Randolph (hip) and forwards Callum Robinson (achilles) and Aaron Connolly (foot) have all withdrawn from the squad.
Already without the likes of Jack Byrne, Enda Stevens, Alan Browne, Kevin Long, Callum O'Dowda, Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady, Kenny has had to add another fresh face to his squad.
Szmodics has enjoyed a good campaign with the Posh in League One. The 25-year old made 42 appearances last season, scoring 15 goals as Peterborough secured promotion to the Championship.
He qualifies for Ireland through his grandmother, who was born in Co Longford.
"I'm over the moon to receive my first international call-up for a nation that is close to mine and my family's hearts," he told Peterborough's club website.
"I'm looking forward to the 12 days ahead and experiencing international football."
Bournemouth stopper Mark Travers has also been called into the squad while captain Seamus Coleman, who had his injury assessed this week, has been passed fit for the training camp in Spain, where the squad lands today.
Swansea City duo Conor Hourihane and Ryan Manning will link up with the squad on Monday after their EFL Championship play-off final while Shamrock Rovers' Daniel Mandroiu will report for duty on Sunday following the game against Longford Town.
Ireland will play Andorra at the Estadi Johan Cruyff in Barcelona on Thursday. Five days later they take on Hungary in Budapest.
