Bonner set for return role with the FAI

Former Celtic and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Packie Bonner is about to return to the FAI as an independent director.

Bonner who won eighty caps for his country was previously the FAI's technical director.

The Donegal man is due to be announced as director with responsibility for high performance at next Sunday's EGM.

Bonner left the association in 2010 when his contract as technical director ended after eight years working for the FAI.
