Burnley are eyeing up another move for Stoke City and Republic of Ireland Under-21 defender Nathan Collins.

The Clarets pursued the Leixlip native in the January transfer window, with Stoke rejecting their £7.5m offer.

However, the Football Insider are now reporting that Burnley are ready to up their bid to £9m for Collins, who made the switch to the Potters from Cherry Orchard in 2016.

Collins turns 20 on Friday and Burnley boss Sean Dyche sees him as a replacement for James Tarkowski, should the 28-year-old leave Turf Moor this summer.

After fending off interest from Manchester United, Stoke tied Collins down to a five-year deal in 2019. The player had been ever-present in Michael O'Neill's squad this season, but after fracturing his foot in the defeat to Norwich City in February, he has been sidelined since.

Collins has made four appearances so far at U-21 level for the Republic of Ireland.
