Republic of Ireland international Saoirse Noonan has joined Shelbourne from Cork City ahead of the start of the new season.

The 21-year-old helped her hometown club to last season's Women's FAI Cup final, where they were beaten by double winners Peamount United. She was also received the Player of the Month award for September.

Noonan also started for the Cork Gaelic footballers, as they lost out to Dublin in the All-Ireland final in December.

She was called up to the national squad for November's Euro 2022 qualifier against Germany but ultimately didn't see game time.

"I am delighted to be joining Shelbourne FC for the upcoming season," she said in a statement released by the club.

"It's an exciting venture for me and I am really looking forward to working with Noel and the team.

"I would like to thank Cork City FC for everything over the last number of years. They have helped me grow as both a player and as a person and I want to truly thank them all for the support.

"I look forward to taking up a new role and playing my part Shelbourne," she said.
