Gary Deegan is the latest signing to be confirmed at Drogheda United ahead of the 2021 SSE Airtricity League season.

The midfielder joins Tim Clancy's United Park outfit, having played last season at Shelbourne, who were relegated to the First Division.

Deegan was a former team-mate of Drogheda boss Clancy as the pair played together at Scottish side Hibernian, while he also had a spell in the English league at Coventry City, Northampton, Southend, Cambridge United and Shrewsbury.

The 33-year-old now joins Darragh Markey and Dinny Corcoran as the three new additions to the squad to date for 2021.
