Dundalk have been fined €50,000 by UEFA for "shadow coaching" due to the fact that manager Filippo Giovanogli does not have the relevant qualification to be involved at European level.
Opposition analyst Shane Keegan has been fulfilling the role of manager for the Lilywhites in the competition as, unlike the Italian, he has a Pro Licence.
Giovanogli was centrally involved in the early games of the group stages, even though Keegan was listed as manager, and he was subsequently sidelined by UEFA for last week's home match with Rapid Vienna.
He was forced to sat in the stand at the Aviva Stadium.
UEFA have now issued a fine of €50,000 and ruled that Giovanogli cannot have any more input for tomorrow’s game with Molde and next week’s finale with Arsenal.
The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body have opted to "ban Filippo Giovanogli from carrying out any function of head coach" or "sit in the technical area during UEFA competition" until he obtains the necessary qualifications.
Keegan will continue in his temporary role.
