Paris St Germain blew a two-goal lead after Kylian Mbappe was denied a first-half hat-trick by VAR as Monaco prevailed 3-2 in Ligue 1.

Mbappe scored twice against his former club, with a fine strike from Angel Di Maria's through ball and a penalty.

But just before the interval the France winger strayed just offside as he found the net for a third time.

In the second half, two goals from Kevin Volland drew Monaco level and a Cesc Fabregas penalty, after Abdou Diallo was sent off, completed the turnaround as the leaders’ eight-match winning streak came to an end.

Rennes missed the chance to climb to second after slipping to a 1-0 defeat at home to Bordeaux.

Hatem Ben Arfa grabbed the winner with a spectacular strike eight minutes before half-time.

The former Newcastle midfielder collected Eduardo Camavinga’s pass and skipped past two defenders on the edge of the area before burying a low shot into the bottom corner.

In La Liga, Huesca remain winless after a 1-1 draw at Osasuna, with David Garcia cancelling out Sandro Ramirez’s opener.
