Barcelona teenager Ansu Fati has been ruled out for around four months following knee surgery, the club have announced.

The 18-year-old Spain winger tore the meniscus in his left knee during Saturday's 5-2 win over Real Betis.

A statement on Barca's official website on Monday said: "Ansu Fati has been operated on successfully by Dr Ramon Cugat for the injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee under the supervision of the club's medical staff.

"The player will be out for approximately four months."

Fati has scored five goals and provided two assists in 10 matches for Barca in all competitions this season.

In December 2019 he became the youngest goal-scorer in Champions League history, and in September this year he became the youngest player to score for Spain.
