Peamount United copper-fastened their position at the head of the Women's National League with a hard-fought win over DLR Waves at PLR Park in Grenogue this evening.
The champions led 2-0 at the break through goals from Áine O'Gorman and Eleanor Ryan Doyle but their lead was cancelled out with two quick goals shortly after half-time from the dogged visitors.
O'Gorman restored the hosts' lead shortly after and though they couldn't add to their tally, that was enough to deliver the points.
They sit five points ahead of Shelbourne, having played a game more. The Tolka Park side play their final game of Phase 1 against Treaty United on Saturday.
Following the international window, Phase 2 will begin, in which the league is split into two sections with teams in the top half playing against each other once more.
