Neymar scored his first goals of the season as Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Angers 6-1 to move into second place in Ligue 1.

The Brazilian forward scored in either half as PSG turned on the style to register their fourth straight win and put their poor start to the season behind them.

Alessandro Florenzi, Julian Draxler, Idrissa Gueye and Kylian Mbappe - his fourth goal in five games this season - were also on target.

Ismael Traore headed home early in the second half for Angers after they had trailed 3-0 and the visitors slipped to eighth place in the table.

PSG, who had lost their first two league games to Lens and Marseille, are one point behind early pace-setters Rennes, who play Reims at home on Sunday.

In the Bundesliga, Union Berlin climbed up to third place after a convincing 4-0 home win against Mainz.
Max Kruse headed the hosts into a half-time lead and further goals Marcus Ingvartsen, Marvin Friedrich and Joel Pohjanpalo in the second period put them out of sight.

In Italy, Sampdoria kick-started their Serie A campaign with their first win of the season, 2-1 at Fiorentina.

Fabio Quagliarella's first-half penalty for Sampdoria was cancelled out by Fiorentina's Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, but Valerio Verre fired home a late winner for the visitors from outside the box.
