Stephen Kenny has held his first training session as Republic of Ireland Manager at Abbotstown this morning, as the squad prepares to play Bulgaria in the Nations League on Thursday.

Sean Maguire comes in to replace the injured Troy Parrott.

Millwall boss Gary Rowett is hopeful Parrott's quad injury is just "a mild strain" that won't keep the attacker out for more than two to three weeks.

James McCarthy took a full part in training, and looks to be available for selection for the first time in four years.

Goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara sat out the session as a precaution, and Mark Travers is due to arrive in later today.

Meanwhile St Patrick's Athletic trio Conor Kearns, Shane Griffin and Lee Desmond have been called into the squad.

Desmond and Griffin are regulars in the first team for the Saints, while Kearns is number two goalkeeper behind Brendan Clarke.

The entire panel secured special Government dispensation to avoid Covid-19 quarantine on arrival into Dublin from England. The same dispensation will apply when the squad returns from Sophia, as Bulgaria is not on the 'green list'.

The players and coaching staff will be tested today and again on Friday and are currently in a restricted bubble.
