Shelbourne maintained their 100% record in the 2020 Women's National League season with a 2-1 home victory over competition kingpins Wexford Youths at Tolka Park.

The sparked to life with two goals in a minute early in the first-half.

Ciara Grant put the league leaders ahead after 13 minutes with a cross-turned-shot which deceived the keeper and wound up in the far corner.

But the visitors equalised a minute later, with Kylie Murphy slotting home after being put through by Aisling Frawley.

Emily Whelan's second half goal proved decisive, the 18-year meeting Noelle Murray's cross with a perfect glancing header.

Shels have now won five games from five. The Tolka Park outfit won their first WNL title in 2016, not long after merging with Raheny United, champions in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.

Later this evening, reigning champions Peamount United host Athlone Town.
