Amber Barrett has signed a contract extension with German side FC Cologne which will keep her at the club for the coming season.

The Republic of Ireland international joined the then Frauen-Bundesliga outfit ahead of their last campaign, and scored 3 goals in 15 games.

But that couldn't prevent the west-German club from relegation, and an immediate return to 2. Frauen-Bundesliga.

Barrett was one of five players to agree terms today, including fellow forward Sonja Giraud.

"It was important for us to put together a team that is in the position to be promoted back to the Bundesliga," said Head coach Sascha Glass.

"Amber and Sonja give us more options in attack and are different types of strikers. Amber is quick and can finish well, Sonja is physical, can hold the ball up well and is a force up front. It's nice to be able to keep both here."
