Liverpool have finally lifted the Premier League trophy following their victory over Chelsea at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's side sealed their first title in 30 years with seven games to spare but had to wait until their final home match tonight to get their hands on the prize.

They set the scene for the presentation in style, with a thrilling 5-3 win over the visitors.

Captain Jordan Henderson then lifted the trophy inside an almost empty stadium as fans gathered outside, against police advice, and set off fireworks.

Despite the sanitised ceremony in the 53,000-seater stadium, Liverpool's players did their best to fill the void, belting out a rendition of the club's anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' along with manager Klopp and his staff.

"If you don't see that we do it for you I can't help you," Klopp said when asked for his message to the fans.

"Five years ago I asked you to turn from doubters into believers. I asked you and you did it.

"You made us happy, we all should celebrate at home. Prepare for a party and when this bulls**t virus has gone we will have a party."

Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore said the players and fans will "come together to celebrate" when the time is right.

"It's been an amazing season and to crown it off like that was special," Henderson told former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher at pitchside.

"It's been a journey, a process, and every single player has been part of it."

"The start of the season was really important of course, but we just grew and grew as the season went on; more confident and ruthless really.

"We found a way to win on so many occasions and that's just down to mentality."
