Jack Charlton was honoured with the RTÉ Hall of Fame Award in 2012 and was interviewed by former player Ray Houghton to mark the occasion.

During his decade as manager, the Republic of Ireland qualified for two World Cups, a European Championship and peaked at number six in the FIFA World rankings.

Houghton made his debut for the Republic of Ireland during Jack's first match in charge against Wales in 1986.

They recalled his time as Ireland boss, and his lasting love affair with the nation.
