The Football Association of Ireland has confirmed that the 2020 FAI Cup will only be open to League of Ireland clubs due to the shortened nature of the season.

The draw for the competition which will be made at Abbotstown at midday on Monday will see all 19 league clubs involved.

Thirteen clubs will receive byes to the next round with the remaining six to play in the first round.

The FAI has also announced that the fixture list for the remaining fixtures of the current SSE Airtricity League season will be released on Monday.

The season which has been reduced to 18 rounds of matches will resume on 31 July.

Four Premier Division clubs, including the top two Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk, had played five fixtures, while six teams had played four matches prior to the suspension of games in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
