Former Republic of Ireland international and Arsenal assistant manager Theo Foley has passed away at the age of 83.
The Dubliner won nine caps for his country in a playing career that saw him represent Home Farm, Burnley, Exeter, Northampton and Charlton.
He enjoyed a lengthy career as a coach and manager, with his greatest success coming in 1989 as assistant to George Graham at Arsenal, a position he held for four years.
The Gunners secured a league title in the most dramatic circumstances, defeating holders Liverpool on the final day of the season in the last minute to end an 18-year title drought.

Foley also had stints at QPR and Millwall, and dipped his toe in management with Northampton in 1991.
Ex-Gunners striker Kevin Campbell was among those to lead the tributes.
"I am totally shocked and saddened at the passing of Theo Foley. What a special football man and gentleman he was! He helped me so much behind the scenes at The Arsenal and always was a pleasure to be around. R.I.P. Theo Foley."
Totally saddened to hear of the passing of Theo Foley. One of footballs true gents. He was a massive part of our success in the mid/late 80's. RIP Theo.
