Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady has agreed to extend his loan at EFL Championship club Charlton Athletic until the end of the season.

The Glasgow-born winger will attempt to prevent the Londonders from slipping down to the third tier of English football, as they currently sit in the relegation places.

He's one of 12 players to sign up for the remaining nine league fixtures, with Lee Bowyer's side currently two points from safety.

"It has been a surreal few months with a lot of challenges but I'm very pleased we've been able to get everything sorted ahead of tomorrow's restart," said the club's Director of Football Steve Gallen,

"The squad is looking good and the players are excited to be getting back on the pitch."

McGeady won the last of his 93 international caps in the 5-1 World Cup play-off defeat to Denmark in 2017.
