Bohemians' Mr Piano Man

A time of lockdown forced on us because of this unwelcome panic. A time also to unearth some hidden talents.

For Bohemians' defender Paddy Kirk, a chance to show the world how good he is on the piano.

On twitter, he posted a video where he covered songs from Bruce Hornsby and The Range, Blue Cantrell and Faithless to name a few, and the views are now nearing 100,000.

It was Bohemians colleague Keith Buckley who urged Kirk to "show the world your hidden talent".

Taking the story up from there, the latter told RTÉ Sport's Dave Kelly: "I threw it together, I play a lot at home so I put it up. I didn't expect to go mad, I did it to keep Keith happy. And then the snowball effect. I've been getting retweets and it's gone viral."

So, did many of his team-mates know he had this talent?

"I'd say five or six from last year. We had an away game, we stayed overnight and there was a piano in the hotel. The majority of the lads didn't know anything."

It was in fourth year in secondary school that Kirk first began to show an interest in the piano, with him adding: "I just started messing around. I looked at tutorials on YouTube and picked it up from there."

Indeed, one iconic tv football show have been in contact.

"Match Of The Day have been on to me and they tweeted me asking could they use the video for their social media. I think they have three million followers, so it would be great if they put it up."
