Former Atletico Madrid full-back Jose Luis Capon has died aged 72.
The Madrid native played for his boyhood club throughout the 1970s, winning three league titles, a Spanish Cup and an Intercontinental Cup and winning 13 Spain caps.
He played in the 1974 European Cup final and replay against Bayern Munich, with the German giants requiring an equaliser in the last minute of extra time to force the replay in which they won their first of three successive continental titles.

A club statement on Sunday read: "Today is a sad day for the rojiblanca family. Atletico de Madrid is in mourning for the death of our former player Jose Luis Capon Gonzalez. The former rojiblanco defender died at the age of 72 in his hometown.
"To remember Capon, the flag honouring our fans located in the Wanda Metropolitano will fly at half-mast for 24 hours in honour of our legendary player.
"With the departure of Capon, the Atletico family loses another of the symbols that gave everything for this club on and off the pitch. From the club, the president, chief executive officer and our board offer their sincere condolences to all his family and friends."
Capon played 269 times in total for Atleti, scoring eight goals, and was honoured with a testimonial match in 1980. He spent the 1971-72 season on loan at Burgos and finished his career with Elche.
The club did not disclose the cause of Capon's death. It follows those of fellow Atleti great Joaquin Peiro on March 18 and youth-team player Christian Minchola on Saturday.
