The Republic of Ireland will kick off their UEFA Nations League campaign with a trip to Bulgaria on Thursday 3 September before hosting Finland three days later and Wales on 10 October.

Incoming manager Stephen Kenny learned who he'll face in hist first competitive games at the helm when the draw was made in Amsterdam on Tuesday evening.

Ireland will once again take on Ryan Giggs' Wales in League B in the competition's second installment. The sides met in 2018, with Wales winning both encounters.

After back-to-back away games in Wales and Finland, the Boys in Green wrap up their campaign with a Dublin clash against the Bulgarians.

It represents a decent draw for Ireland who managed to avoid the likes of Russia, Serbia and the Czech republic.

Topping the Nations League group would help Kenny's men if a potential play-off was needed for the World Cup in 2022.

Northern Ireland were drawn with Austria, Norway and Romania.

Scotland have been drawn to play Slovakia, Israel and the Czech Republic in Group Two of League B also.

Meanwhile, England have been grouped with Belgium, Iceland and newly-promoted Denmark in League A.
