Shelbourne boss Ian Morris has signed a new deal that will keep him at Tolka Park for another three seasons.

Morris took the reins at Shels in November 2018, aged just 31. Last season he led them back to the top flight as First Division champions, and he'll now look to consolidate their position in the Airtricity League Premier Division in what is the club's 125th year of existence.

"To be given the chance to build on the success and foundations of last year is fantastic," he said.

"It’s a really good place to be and a great environment for young players to be in as well as the morale and camaraderie of the first team which is second to none."

Shels begin their campaign at Cork City on St Valentines' Day, with their first home game coming a week later against St Patrick's Athletic.

"We know how strong the Premier Division is this year and there will be surprises and twists along the way but we’re going out to win every game," Morris added.

"The bond between the fans and team is there to see again throughout the pre-season and that's what it’s all about."
