Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Jason Knight has signed a long-term contract with Derby County as his rapid rise at the club continues.
Knight was handed his first-team debut on the opening day of the 2019/20 campaign as a substitute in Derby's 2-1 win at Huddersfield Town.
The former Cabinteely midfielder has gone on to make 18 appearances in all competitions to date.
He has made six appearances for the Irish Under-21s.
Knight moved to England from Cabo three years ago.
The 18-year-old has started Derby's last eight games and scored his first career goals by finding the net twice in the 2-1 home win against Charlton Athletic at the end of December.
Knight said after signing until the summer of 2023: "The last year or so has been amazing for myself personally and to top it off with a new contract is amazing.
"The club has a lot of faith in the youngsters coming through and that’s exciting."
"The manager has trusted a number of the younger players in some important games and when you step out on the pitch you just want to repay the faith that he has shown in you."
