St Patrick's Athletic have completed the signings of former Scotland Under-21 international, Billy King, and English midfielder Dan Ward ahead of the 2020 SSE Airtricity League season.

King joins the Saints after spells at Rangers, Greenock Morton, Dundee United and Hearts of Midlothian, while Ward’s former clubs include Newcastle United and Middlesbrough, as well as a recent spell at non-league Spennymoor Town.

"I was delighted to sign as everything I heard for the future sounds positive for this season and the future as well," said King.

The Inchicore club have also re-signed midfielder James Doona in what will be his third year with the Saints.

"It feels good to be back at the club in pre-season," said Inchicore native Doona.

"I’ve loads to prove this year. I felt I kicked on last year when Stephen [O'Donnell] came into the club, so hopefully I can do that again for this year.

"There’s a lot of places up for grabs and everyone is competing hard as they want to play so hopefully I can kick on."
