Shamrock Rovers have completed the signing of Rhys Marshall from Glenavon.
The 24-year old right back has played for the Lurgan club for seven years, during which time he won two Irish Cups in 2014 and 2016.
The versatile Marshall had been subject to interest from Linfield but insisted he was not going to join another NIFL Premiership club and was fixing his sights on full-time football.
His switch to Shamrock Rovers has been confirmed by both clubs this afternoon and Hoops manager Stephen Bradley welcomed his arrival in comments made to the club website.
"Rhys fits what we do here and he has lots of good attributes. He's young and hungry and he’s played a lot of games for someone so young.
"I'm delighted to get him in. He was really keen as soon as we met him to make it happen. He can’t wait to get started and we’re looking forward to getting him in.

"He can play in a number of positions – right back, centre back, centre midfield and I’ve seen him play left-back as well.
"That’s something we look at when we’re signing players. He strengthens us as a team and a squad so it was a no brainer."
While initially a right-back, Marshall has often been deployed in midfield this past season and has notched four goals in 22 Irish League appearances.
He plays his farewell game for Glenavon against Coleraine in Saturday's Irish Cup encounter at Mourneview Park.

Elsewhere, Cork City have announced the signing of Conor Davis from Derry City.
Davis, who joined Reading in 2014 and featured for their U18 & U23 sides, returned to Ireland in 2018, signing for UCD and playing a key role in the side that reached the semi-final of the FAI Cup in the same season.
He left the Dublin side in July, heading to the Brandywell until the end of the season.
