Ahead of the Club World Cup final, Virgil Van Dijk was present for Liverpool's training session on Friday morning in Doha, but manager Jurgen Klopp refused to confirm the player's availability.
The Holland centre-back missed Wednesday's semi-final win against Monterrey with illness - despite being at training the day before.
Manager Jurgen Klopp admitted he sent the defender back to the team hotel as soon as the media had left the session so his availability for Saturday's final is by no means guaranteed.
Klopp told a press conference: "We will see. Virgil was part of training today, Gini has had a session today, so we will see how it will look at the end. We have no new injury concerns. It was Wednesday when we played and now it is Friday.
"We use each hour for recovery so that is what we did. We will see who can line up tomorrow."
refused to confirm Wijnaldum looks certain to miss the final as he is still recovering from a hamstring problem sustained in last weekend's win over Watford.
The Liverpool manager knows the Club World Cup is not viewed the same back home as it is in South America.
"Flamengo got sent here with a clear order to win it and to come back as heroes, we got told stay at home and play the Carabao Cup. That is a massive difference," said Klopp.
"We cannot change that but we are here and my team wants to win the competition even though we know it is very difficult because the other team is really good.
"The view in Europe is different to the rest of the world and I'd very much like to change that view.
"Will it change the view in Europe? Probably not. Liverpool fans want us to win, most of the other fans don't really care."
