Athlone Town AFC are set to join the Só Hotels Women's National League ahead of the 2020 season.
The club have competed in the Women's Under-17 National League since 2018 and this move is part of their ongoing development.
A number of the club's players have already started to stand out, with Kayleigh Shine earning a place in the Republic of Ireland Women's Under-19 squad for UEFA European Championship qualifiers this year.
Also, Bray Wanderers will enter a team into the U-17 League for next season - bringing the total number of teams up to 13.
