Scott Hogan and Callum O'Dowda have been dropped from the Republic of Ireland squad to play Denmark in tonight's crucial Euro 2020 qualifier at the Aviva Stadium.

Both players were used from the bench for the previous game away to Switzerland, so it is surprising they miss out on being part of the 23-man squad.

Shamrock Rovers midfielder Jack Byrne and Tottenham striker Troy Parrott are the players to benefit.

Shane Duffy will captain the side, as confirmed by manager Mick McCarthy yesterday.
