Irish referee Alan Kelly will be a Video Assistant Referee at the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar next month.
European champions Liverpool, the winners of next week's Copa Libertadores final between Flamengo (Brazil) and River Plate (Argentina), Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia), Monterrey (Mexico), Hienghène Sport (New Caledonia) and hosts Al-Sadd will all compete.
Former League of Ireland referee Kelly had taken charge of Europa League and Champions League group games and several friendly internationals before moving to the USA in 2014 to work as a full-time professional ref in Major League Soccer.
The Corkman has since been named MLS Referee of the Year three times, in 2015, '16 and '18.
He will be part of the Concacaf team of all-American officials that includes referee Ismail Elfath and assistant refs Kyle Atkins and Corey Parker.
Kelly was also the VAR official at June's Under-20 World Cup final between Ukraine and South Korea.
Kelly recommended ref Elfath review an early potential foul in the game which, after consultation with the pitch monitor, was given as a penalty that Korea scored. Ukraine went on to win 3-1.
RTÉ will show the FIFA Club World Cup from 11-21 December
