Caoimhín Kelleher said saving a penalty in front of the Kop to help Liverpool win a crazy Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal was what "dreams are made of" on a memorable night for the young goalkeeper from Cork.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international earned his first home start for Liverpool and conceded five goals in a manic 90-minute last-16 tie with the Gunners.
The 20-year-old could do little about to prevent the goals he conceded, with both sides placing little emphasis on defending, while replays showed that the first Arsenal goal would have been disallowed had VAR been in use.
The game ended 5-5 thanks to a late Divock Origi goal and with the teams having scored their opening three penalties, Kelleher dived to his right to deny Dani Ceballos and set up the victory.
"We spoke just before the shootout about where certain players goes, so we did our homework and then I managed to go the right way so it was good," he told Sky Sports.
"It was a bit of a crazy one, five goal went past and I didn't have time to blink, some strange goals as well so it was a bit of a strange night.
"He always comes up with massive goals when you need him does Div, he was unreal, the whole team, we never died and we kept going right until the very end.
"It’s what dreams are made of really, winning the shootout in the Kop, the atmosphere there at the end was unbelievable.
"I’ve never had an experience like that in my life. It was an unreal feeling, to be honest, I can’t really describe it."
