PAOK 1-0 Bohemian FC
(2-1 on aggregate)

Bohs Under-19s made their exit from the UEFA Youth League after being edged out by PAOK in Salonika on Wednesday evening.

Craig Sexton's charges had largely bossed the first leg at Dalymount three weeks ago but were left to rue several missed chances in that 1-1 draw.

They headed to Greece well in the tie but that draw in Dublin proved costly after a tight, cagey contest.

The deadlock was broken five minutes into the second leg when Dimitrios Panidis drilled home after good work from Dimitrios Tsopouroglou.

That was ultimately enough to send the hosts into the second round of the Domestic Champions path, though substitute Evan Ferguson almost forced extra-time right at the death, the 15-year-old just failing to find the target.

Bohs manager Craig Sexton said: "It's a disappointing result but it's been a positive experience for them all. Myself and all the backroom staff take great pride in their performances over the two legs. They've shown again they can put it up to the best young players in Europe.

"We should have won the first leg but perhaps PAOK underestimated us. We could see from how much PAOK celebrated after the game that they knew they'd been in a battle. On another day, had we taken some of those chances in the first leg, we might have gone through. But they will learn from this and it will stand to them."

If PAOK come through the next round they'll face one of the group-stage runners-up in a play-off. The victors of those ties then progress to the round of 16 along with the group-stage winners.

The groups consist of the same clubs whose senior sides are in the Champions League.

Yesterday, Troy Parrott scored four goals for Spurs' Under-19s in their Group B clash with Red Star Belgrade in London.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international was the key man in the 9-2 victory, bagging the second goal with an emphatic effort, before following it up two minutes later by taking advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Andrija Katic and converting from close range.

He scored a third from the penalty spot and then completed his scoring with another sliding finish late on.
