WNL round-up: Shels comeback win means League goes to final day

Finn's late winner means the title race goes down to the wire
Finn's late winner means the title race goes down to the wire

The Só Hotels Women's National League is going to go down to the wire after a late Jamie Finn header saw Shelbourne beat last year's champions Wexford Youths 2-1 on Sunday.

The women from the sunny south-east took the lead in the first-half through Lauren Kelly, but Shels weren't to be denied.

Emily Whelan drew them level after the break, before Finn popped up with the winner at Tolka Park.

But it's Peamount United who are in pole position to take the title after they completely outplayed DLR Waves at Jackson Park.

Eleanor Ryan Doyle, Megan Smyth-Lynch and sub Chloe Moloney all had a brace of goals each as they won 8-0.

It leaves them two clear at the top, and with a far better goal difference than Peamount heading into the final round of fixtures.
