Xherdan Shaqiri is back in the Switzerland set-up having missed last month's Euro 2020 qualifiers in order to concentrate on his club side Liverpool.
Discussions between the player and the Swiss football association have "resulted in positive conclusion", however, the player will not be available for their upcoming games with Denmark and Ireland due to injury.
Shaqiri injured his calf muscle in training last week and is currently sidelined at the Anfield club,
The 82-times capped attacking midfielder said that he felt that he was not able to help the national team last month due to fitness concerns.
"I missed the preparation for the new season. I had almost no game-time," said Shaqiri.
"Under these circumstances, I was not really able to help the national team.
"I needed this break. The consequences that followed were neither intentional nor deliberate. I want to make it clear that this absence had nothing to do with the role of captain of the team."
"We have agreed with Xherdan that we will not make public any content of our interaction. Xherdan is part of our team. We are happy to be able to count on him again," said national team manager, Vladimir Petkovic, who enjoyed a follow-up meeting with Shaqiri in Liverpool.
