Michael Obafemi and Nathan Collins have been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad due to injury.

Obafemi has been nursing a hamstring injury, and was not part of the Southampton squad for their 1-1 draw with Manchester United, while Stoke defender Collins is recovering from a calf problem sustained in training.

Ross County winger Simon Power and Southampton defender Kameron Ledwidge have been called up to replace them, and they will link up with the squad on Monday.

Power was part of the Maurice Revello Tournament squad and he started in the 0-0 draw against Mexico U-23s, and made substitute appearances against China, Bahrain and Brazil.

Ledwidge was part of the Republic of Ireland U-19 squad who reached the semi-finals of the UEFA U-19 European Championships in July and has now been called up to the U-21 squad for the first time.

Stephen Kenny's squad will report on Monday for the home match against Armenia on Friday, September 6 and the trip to Sweden on Tuesday, September 10.
