Emma Byrne comes out of retirement to join Terrassa

Former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Emma Byrne has come out of retirement to sign for Terrassa FC.

Byrne joins the Spainish First Division side after they finished second in the league last season.

The 40-year-old won 134 caps for Ireland and was the first woman inducted into the FAI's Hall of Fame.

Byrne spent 17 years at Arsenal, winning 11 league titles, 10 FA Cups and one Champions League.

She retired after a spell at Brighton and Hove Albion.
