Republic of Ireland international Harry Arter has joined EFL Championship side Fulham on loan for the new season.

The London-born midfielder, who has 15 caps, has played Premier League football for the last four seasons, between spells at Bournemouth, and on loan at Cardiff City.

"I'm delighted to be here," Arter said in a statement released through his new club.

"Fulham is a fantastic club with a lot of ambition who want to get back to the Premier League, and I hope I can help them achieve that this season."

The Cottagers were relegated from the top flight at the end of last season after managing just seven wins over the course of the campaign.

They had spent just one season in the Premier League, and managers Slaviša Jokanović and Claudio Ranieri were fired during the course of the campaign, before Scott Parker - Arter's brother-in-law - was given the job full-time in May.

A statement released by the club said that Arter's move "could be made permanent next summer."
