Shamrock Rovers have been handed a major boost with reports that UCD winger Neil Farrugia has agreed to join the Dublin club.
The Irish Independent claims that Farrugia has opted to spurn several offers from English clubs in order to link up with Stephen Bradley's side.
Farrugia will combine his playing and training time at Rovers with his studies at UCD as he aims to complete his degree in Biomedical Science.
The Ireland Under-21 international is eager to remain in Ireland to finish his studies before contemplating a move to the UK and, all going well, should graduate next summer.
Farrugia has attracted interested from the likes of Middlesbrough, Preston and QPR and has also spent time on trial at Manchester City.
The 20-year-old looks likely to be joined at Tallaght by UCD team-mate Gary O'Neill, who is also set to move from Belfield to Rovers.
