The winner of the Champions League first round qualifying tie between Dundalk and Riga will play Partizani (Albania) or Qarabağ (Azerbaijan) in the second round.

The Lilywhites take on the Latvian champions next month in their opening tie.

Qarabag will be hot favourites to progress to the second round against the Albanian outfit. 

They have played in the group stages of European competition for the last five seasons, including a histortic season in the Champions League and four times in the Europa League.

They played Arsenal in the Europa League group stages last year.

The loser of Dundalk v Riga will meet the loser of BATE Borisov (Belarus) vs Piast Gliwice (Poland) in the second qualifying round of the Europa League after that was drawn as well this morning. 

The second round Europa ties involving Cork City, Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic were also drawn.
