Dundalk will play Latvian champions Riga FC in the first round of Champions League qualifying.

The Lilywhites will be at home in the first leg.

Riga were beaten in the first round of Europa League qualifying last year by CSKA Sofia on away goals.

There are four rounds to progress through to get to the group phase.

Dundalk are guaranteed at least €800,000 in prize money, but that will rise to €1.1m if they beat Riga.

The winner of the tie will be guaranteed a third round Europa League qualifier, while the loser will go into the second round.

Linfield were drawn at home to Rosenborg, while Celtic take on Sarajevo.

Matches will be played on 9/10 and 16/17 July.

The Europa League produced difficult ties for the Irish teams.

Cork City will be at home to FC Progrès Niederkorn of Luxembourg or Cardiff Metropolitan University in the opening leg of their first round tie.

Niederkorn famously beat Rangers two seasons ago, and got to the third round last year. City were seeded so it's a tough draw on Cork.

Shamrock Rovers will be in Norway as they take on SK Brann, with the second leg in Tallaght.

St Patrick's Athletic face Norrkoping of Sweden, who are seventh in their top flight. The Saints will be at home in the first game on Thursday 11 July, with the second leg seven days later.
