UEFA have confirmed that John Delaney will not be attending the association's Executive Committee meeting in Baku on Wednesday.
Delaney was voted onto the Committee in 2017, the same year that the then FAI CEO gave a €100,000 bridging loan to the Association.
Arising from that and other matters, the FAI Executive Vice President has stepped away from the body.
UEFA confirmed in a statement to Independent.ie that Delaney will not be attending Wednesday's gathering in the Azerbaijan capital, hours ahead of the Europa League final.
The statement read: "Mr Delaney will not be attending the Exco meeting in Baku."
UEFA gave no further reasons for his absence.
As things stand, John Delaney's term with UEFA lasts until 2021.
