Harry Arter will not be staying at Cardiff as his season-long loan from Bournemouth comes to an end.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder departs the club after they suffered relegation from the Premier League earlier this month on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Manager Neil Warnock has received support from Cardiff owner Vincent Tan to stay on with the side, but Arter has revealed that he will not be remaining with the team after making 25 Premier League appearances since his arrival.

"Thank you to everyone associated with Cardiff City, loved every minute and just disappointed we wasn’t able to stay up," he wrote in a heartfelt message on Twitter.

"Thanks for all your support throughout the year and I wish nothing but the best for the future."

Arter hasn't featured for Cardiff since suffering a calf injury, and last featured for the side in their 2-0 defeat to Burnley.

It's not yet known if Arter will be involved with the Bluebirds in their final game of the season against Manchester United on Sunday.
