The Republic of Ireland U19s have finished their Elite qualification round for the European Championships with a 100% record, having already qualified for the tournament this summer.

Tom Mohan's side scored an impressive 2-0 win over their Group 1 hosts Russia, to ensure that Ireland finished their campaign on a high.

Ireland became the first team to book their place at the tournament finals in Armenia, after defeating Romania in the opening round followed by another victory over Azerbaijan at the weekend.

Previously, Ireland also picked up wins over Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faroe Islands and the Netherlands in the Qualifying Round which ensures that Ireland are the only side to win six games from six en route to the tournament.

They're also the only team in Europe to do so with a 100% record.

"We made a lot of changes of today," said Mohan after Ireland's win over Russia in Krasnodar.

"There were nine changes from the team on Saturday. It was a great opportunity to give fresh players a chance. They were hungry to impress and wanting to prove themselves. It’s proven to be a really strong group effort this week.

"To the people that have worked with these players as children, right through to where they are today, it’s a fantastic night for them and for everyone involved with the players."
