The draw for second round of the EA Sports Cup has pitted the Premier Division leaders against the First Division leaders with Shamrock Rovers making the short journey south to the Carlisle Grounds to play Bray Wanderers.
Gary Cronin's side have won three from three as they've risen to the top of the First Division but they face a stiff task against the Hoops, who themselves hit the front in the Premier Division standings with a 1-0 win in Inchicore last Friday.
Elsewhere, the draw has teed up a couple of derbies in Munster and the north-west respectively. Cork will face the winners of Limerick and Cobh, while Finn Harps have been drawn with Sligo Rovers in Ballybofey, not long after the pair's league meeting.
There's a couple of all Dublin clashes with Bohs hosting Cabinteely while UCD head north to play Shelbourne in Tolka Park.
Meanwhile, reigning champions Derry City will host the 2004 winners Longford Town in the Brandywell, with Neale Fenn's midland outfit still unbeaten this season.
There's another meeting of clubs from the upper and lower tiers in Waterford with Alan Reynolds's team facing Galway United in the RSC.
Vinny Perth's Dundalk, who shook off early season cobwebs with a demolition of Waterford last Friday, travel to Richmond Park to play St Patrick's Athletic.
