Mick McCarthy has named six uncapped players as part of the 38-man provisional squad for Ireland's upcoming European championship qualifiers against Gibraltar and Georgia.
Three players are receiving their first call-up with Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers, Luton Town's James Collins and Newport's Padraig Amond all included.
Two more goalkeepers, Kieran O'Hara and Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher have yet to earn for a cap for Ireland while the still uncapped Sunderland defender Jimmy Dunne has also been named.
Four players are ruled through injury, with McCarthy having to do without Ciaran Clark, Callum Robinson, Jonathan Walters and Michael Obafemi.
Glenn Whelan, Aiden McGeady, James McCarthy, Stephen Ward, Keiren Westwood and David McGoldrick have all earned recalls to the squad.
Whelan appeared to have made his final appearance in a green shirt against Northern Ireland last November but McCarthy confirmed that the Aston Villa midfielder told him he hadn't retired and was still available for selection.
Travers and Kelleher have also been named as part of Stephen Kenny's U21 side for the Luxembourg qualifier on 24 March, with McCarthy reserving the option to call them up to the senior squad for the senior qualifier against Georgia two days later.
The Republic, who appointed McCarthy as successor to Martin O'Neill in November, face Gibraltar away on March 23 and Georgia at home three days later. The squad will be finalised on March 17.
