Wales 0-0 Republic of Ireland

Megan Campbell made her long-awaited return to international duty as Wales and the Republic of Ireland played out a goalless draw in their friendly in Marbella on Thursday afternoon.

Campbell suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a UEFA Champions League match for Manchester City against LSK Kvinner FK back in November 2017 which kept her out until the start of this month when she made her comeback against Watford in the FA Women's Cup.

She hadn't played for Ireland in 16 months but got almost 45 minutes under her belt before making way for Claire O'Riordan.

Katie McCabe was a threat for Ireland and sliced a shot wide from a good position early on before narrowly missing the target late in the game at the end of a mazy run down the right wing.

Wales' best opportunity fell to Kayleigh Green midway through the first half when Ireland failed to clear a corner but her close-range shot was well blocked by Claire Skinner.
