Bohemians have announced that highly rated teenager Ali Reghba signed a one-year deal with the club for the 2019 season.

The 19-year old had trialed with Leicester City over the winter and the Premier League were interested in signing him but a deal did not materialise in time for the January transfer window. However, it is still anticipated that Reghba will sign a deal with Leicester City during the summer.

Reghba, a free agent until that time, had several suitors in the League of Ireland but has opted to re-join Bohs for the next few months.

Reghba has been one of the star graduates of the Bohemians youth set-up, scoring the winning goal in last year's SSE Airtricity League U19 League final against Shamrock Rovers and netting against FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Youth League.

He was elevated to the senior set-up by Keith Long late last season, catching the eye with a brace of goals in the 3-1 win over St. Patrick's Athletic in Richmond Park last September.

Born in Germany to an Algerian father and an Irish mother, Reghba has represented Ireland regularly at U19 level and has been namechecked by Stephen Kenny as a promising player.

Speaking after re-joining the club, Reghba said: "I am buzzing to have signed back. This club has helped me a lot. Keith and the coaching staff have given me a chance to play and prove myself.

"I'll always remember my debut. That game showed you the trust that the manager has in youth players at the club. He gave a load of us an opportunity.

"You want more days like that. I want to play week in week out.

"I know I have to work hard to do that but I'm looking forward to the challenge and hopefully I can play and score more goals again."

Reghba is available for selection for tonight's trip to face UCD.
