Sligo Rovers goalkeeper Ed McGinty praised the organised performance of his side as Dundalk were held 1-1 on the opening night of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division season.
Sligo had to withstand a host of attacks, with McGinty saving a penalty from Patrick Hoban and keeping last year’s top scorer out all night.
The 19-year-old said: "I just thought he'd want to strike it so I just guessed it. It's just luck. I was happy to save it and help the team.
"It's a massive point for us. We knew they were going to be a great side. We wanted to come here and prove we could get something."

McGinty is a Motherwell-born goalkeeper, with the unique story of moving to Sligo to join their academy three years ago.
His entire family, mum, dad and two brothers relocated to Ballyshannon to support the quest to play professionally – and certainly proved his potential last night.
He added: "Credit goes to the defence with big Dante (Leverock), Regan (Donleon), John (Mahon) and Johnny (Dunleavy) and the holding midfielders. We really kept our shape throughout the game.
"They had chances but bar the goal which was blind, I didn't think they'd get another one.
"We had a good pre-season and there is a great bunch of lads so no sweat. When Gary Rogers was hitting balls I was thinking 'oh no man'. Dante and John dealt with it excellently."
