Former Barcelona boss lands Mexico job

Mexico have appointed Gerardo Martino as their new head coach.

The former Barcelona boss succeeds Juan Carlos Osorio, who resigned in June after leading El Tri to the last 16 of the World Cup.

Martino, who has previously been in charge of Paraguay and his native Argentina, left his role with Atlanta United at the end of their season in Major League Soccer and had been widely expected to take the vacant Mexico post.
